  1. Maize variety SHIATS Makka 3 (SHIATS MS 3) has been ‘Notified’ by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, New Delhi (Vide Gazette No. Thursday, November 24, 2016/AGRAHAYANA 3, 1938 Number 2771)).
  2. Maize variety SHIATS Makka 2 (SHIATS MS 2) has been ‘Identified’ by State Varietal Release Sub Committee, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (28/08/2016).
  3. Developed and Maintaining 150 inbred lines of “Quality Protein Maize” for their utilization in breeding program.
  4. Developed four high yielding linseed genotypes (SHA-1, SHA-2, SHA-3, and SHA-4), which are under multi-location testing at central and state levels.
  5. Maintaining 175 diverse germplasm of linseed for their utilization in breeding program.

AAI-16 and AAI-11, which have been found most suitable for growing under late-sown and very late-sown condition of Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut, Kanpur and Faizabad as these genotypes depicted high yield along with high 1000 grain weight, membrane stability, CTD, chlorophyll content, spike weight and grain filling period etc.

  1. Potential Parent Identified:

Lines WR 1451, PBW 524, Raj 4026, AAI 12, HD 2428 and K9162 have been identified as good combiners under high temperature conditions of Allahabad.

  1. Trait identification :

Early vigor, 1000 grain weight, grain filling period, brown spike colour, number of productive tillers per plot, spike weight, grain yield, CTD and membrane stability have been identified as important traits for high temperature tolerance.

  1. Participatory Breeding: Ten promising single plant selections have been grown in farmer’s field at village Simra kalwana. Farmers opinion have considered the in selection of best genotypes for temperature tolerance under late sown conditions of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Based on farmers interest the best lines have been grown at farmers field for their popularization and seed multiplication.

Intellectual Property
  1. Maize variety  SHIATS Makka 3 (SHIATS MS 3) has been ‘Notified’ by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, New Delhi, (Vide gazette No. THURSDAY, November 24, 2016/AGRAHAYANA 3, 1938 Number 2771) and released by State Varietal Release Committee, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (Vide Letter No. PS/Krishi Anubhag -2/1085/12-02-2016-S11/93 dated 06.05.2016). It is a composite white seeded maize variety having bold grains with high oil (5.5%) and starch content (76.0%). Yield potential 35-40 q/ha, resistant to maydis leaf blight, downy mildew with stay green habit and two cobs/plant, recommended for whole Uttar Pradesh.                                  
  2. SHIATS Makka 3 (SHIATS MS 3) has been registered with ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), Pusa Campus, New Delhi bearing National Identity No. IC 618414 (Ref No. GCD/RV/May/2016 dated 07/05/2016).
